MAKE MONEY WHILE YOU WELD – 5 TIMES FASTER THAN TIG
Lightwelder20 is the world’s first 2kW portable laser welder. Its 2000W of power is 33% more than other portable units, and unsurpassed in the latest generation of portable laser welders. It has with very high efficiency and cooling via refrigerant heat pump rather than a water chiller. This makes it truly portable and avoids the need to change water. The high welding speed makes you money and saves on argon and electricity bills compared to TIG. Aluminum welding is a key strength due to our high power density which is better than laser welders costing almost twice as much.
UNBEATEN EFFICIENCY, VALUE AND WELDING SPEED
Our most powerful portable laser welder, Lightwelder20, has 2kW of output power. It is very similar to the well-known, more expensive competitor, but our laser output has higher power density than their standard model. This allows us to weld aluminum basically twice as fast as videos of their factory technicians.
Lightwelder20’s high efficiency means less power consumption, and less heat buildup. This avoids overheating and the premature aging that others can experience. Duty cycle is not a problem, with 100% duty cycle at 95°F (35°C). High efficiency also means it consumes less than 24 Amps at 220V AC, as measured with a current clamp.
This unit uses a refrigerant heat pump for maximum cooling. Most air cooled laser welders use less effective cooling technologies such as heat pipes or simple convection.
2000W VERSION – POWER TO RULE THEM ALL
4 to 6 times faster than TIG, with less heat input, less distortion and a stronger weld due to less reduction in material properties.
Welds up to 8 gauge stainless, steel and aluminum at 1/2″ per second
Welds up to 1/4″ (6.4mm) at 1/3″ per second travel speed in one pass
Light weight 130lbs (60kg)
Dimensions: 25”x12”x24” high
Small size easily fits in a pickup or SUV
Low power consumption (high conversion efficiency of 42%). Peak current draw is 24A.
Laser wavelength 1075nm+/-10nm. Laser Class IV (special safety measures required for the work area and personnel in that area).

SAFETY NOTES
- Laser welders are Class IV lasers. They can start fires and burn skin at close range but are also dangerous to the eyes for at least 100 metres, so special safety measures are required. We provide guidance on safety, but because safety is so important our safety acknowledgement must be signed before shipping and using the laser welder.
- You must purchase and use our safety glasses and laser welding helmet with this machine. In any case these are the best value on the market, with high and known protection levels, so you should be using them anyway.
